My Little Scientist

I signed Isaac up for a little preschool class through the city's recreation department. I gave him a few classes to choose from, but he didn't even have to think about it...Science Class was the winner...by a long shot! (I think the words "dinosaurs" and "bugs" were all he really needed to hear.)

He had his first day yesterday and he did SO well! He walked right in, smiling the whole time, and didn't even hesitate when I left. When I picked him up, he was still totally beaming. He loved everything about it!

Isaac's new class also means that I get some one-on-one time with Trevor. (Something that I've really never had...poor 2nd child!) :) There is a great park close to Isaac's building, so Trevor and I walked over and had a great time together. He is SUCH a fun little guy!

This is definitely a win-win-WIN situation.

San Fran

As you can tell from this LONG post, we had a great time in San Francisco! I had no idea that it was such a fun city with so much to see. And who better to see it with than my favorite guy! :) Here is the travelogue...if you have some spare time!

When we got to San Francisco, we checked into our hotel and dropped off our stuff. It was a really cool, French-style hotel and it was located right in the middle of downtown.

We ran down the 8 flights of stairs so we could
check out the whole place. :)

Our first stop was Chinatown,
just one block from our hotel.

Next, we headed to Union Square. We walked around a little and then ate at the Cheesecake Factory
(on the 8th floor of Macy's).

Our first night was so relaxing and fun.
It's nice to remember how much we like each other! ;)

We woke up early the next morning and headed out for some serious sight-seeing! We got a one-day pass for the cable cars and buses, so we could get all around the city. The cable cars are every bit as fun as they look!

Our first stop was Lombard street, the famous crooked street. It is so gorgeous...these pics don't even do it justice!

Next, we jumped back on the cable car
and headed to Ghirardelli Square.
(Such a yummy place!) :)

I seriously can't take him anywhere! Ha-ha.

Then we walked around the shore, just admiring the scenery.
(Just behind this boat is a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We didn't even know it was there until later that afternoon, when the fog started to clear out.)

We had to get pictures of all the cool boats,
to show our boys.

Then we headed down to Fisherman's Wharf. It was such a fun (and smelly) place to walk around. Lots of seafood, if you're into that...which we aren't. :)

We decided that we had to go see it!

We took a bus out to the bridge,
which gave us another cool look at the rest of the city.

At the base of the bridge, we found a little trail down to a beach. It was only 1.5 miles, and started out easy, but then it went straight down the side of the cliff. It was pretty difficult in flip-flops, but totally worth the pain!
It was beautiful!

Along the trail, we stumbled upon these really cool structures. They weren't marked at all, and we couldn't figure out what they were. Derek had to do a little exploring. (He's up on the top.)

We did find this little sign...the only explanation.
Apparently, they were built in the late 1800's to protect the coastline.

After we got back from our trip to the bridge, we headed down to Washington Square. We got there right as the sun was setting and got a great view. We put in our name at a popular local restaurant in Little Italy. While we were waiting (45 min) we jumped on a bus and went up to Telegraph Hill.

We got back just in time for our reservation
and had the best pizza of our lives! Seriously!

The next morning, we headed out...
determined to find the Chinatown Gate
(which we searched for during our first trip to Chinatown).
We finally found it!

Then we went back to Union Square.
We ate at a cool 50's diner and spent the rest of the day
just shopping and hanging out.

It was a wonderful weekend!
Thanks to my hubby for all he did to make it so great.

We had the best time...what a great city!

I just have to write about our most recent trip because it was one of our best! The weather was perfect, the animals were out and about, and I had so much fun with my cute little boys! :)

We stayed at the elephant exhibit for at least 15 minutes...
the elephants were really close
and the boys couldn't pull themselves away!

Isaac and Trevor were also very excited
to see that the orangutans were back.
(They were inside the last couple of times because it was so cold.)

(This was our first zoo trip with our fabulous bike trailer/stroller.
It was SO much better! Thanks again, Grammy and Papa!) :)

Once again, the reptiles and amphibians were a big hit.
I guess it's a boy thing! :)

I feel very lucky to be able to have days like this with my kids.
Watching them have so much fun together makes all the craziness of life worth it!
