The Birthday Chronicles! :)

We went a little crazy this year with Isaac's birthday.
Our idea was to keep it simple, but we were having SO much fun that we just kept on celebrating!
The first celebration...a couple of days early so we could be with his grandparents at the mountain.
Isaac was so excited to have a "birthday party" with Grandma and Grandpa. He is crazy about them!
Isaac has been wanting this Woody doll for a long time!
We had to walk by it every time we went to Target.
He was pretty excited!
I told him he could pick anything he wanted for his birthday breakfast. After much deliberation, he decided on a yogurt! Such a funny boy!
So here is his birthday yogurt...complete with candle. :)
One of the highlights for Isaac was getting to talk to Grammy and Papa. He was so excited that they sang "Happy Birthday" to him all the way from Africa.
Trevor didn't quite know what was going on,
but he enjoyed all the treats!Another little celebration with our best buddy, Sara.
Isaac wanted his cousin, Jameson, to come to Peter Piper Pizza for his birthday. It was so fun to have the Webbs with us. Can you tell these boys like each other!? :)
Trevor spent almost the whole time on this car game.
Playing ski ball with Jameson.
Cute cousins!
Here is the lion cake that he's been wanting for months.
It's definitely not perfect, but he loved it!

Happy Birthday, Little Man!
We love you so much!

For Grammy and Papa

I remember my Mom telling me before they left
for the Congo that they were going to miss all of the
simple little moments with their grandkids.
Moments like this...

Nothing makes me smile like the sound
of these boys giggling.
Hopefully this brings a smile to your face, too,
Grammy and Papa! :)

We're Back, Old Friend!

We made our first trip back to the zoo in a couple of months and had a blast! (I just can't do it in the dead heat of summer, but we really missed it.) Isaac was SO excited and Trevor enjoyed it way more than he did a couple of months ago. He thought he was just as grown-up as Isaac. It was adorable! The boys checking out the prairie dogs. Love this picture! :)
The only way to keep Trevor in the stroller was to feed him.
(As you can see, he was still not happy about being buckled in!)
Isaac is such a rock star! Ha-ha!
The boys chased each other ALL OVER that zoo!
Isaac holding Trevor's hand...leading him to the rhinos.
Moments like this make it all worth it!

Copy Cats

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, right?
Trevor wants to be just like his Mama!
(Should I be worried?) :)
We have tried to convince Isaac that he should wear hats,
but he's been never interested...until today.
He put on this hat today and insisted that I call him "Jameson." (His cousin, Jameson, wears hats all the time...apparently he has taken notice.)

Favorite New (Old) Toy

I can't stand to have toys all over our house, so we rotate them. Every few months, I go through the toy baskets and pull out the ones they are tired of and put them in the garage. A few months later, I pull those toys out again and it's like Christmas morning at our house! :) This week, I pulled out this old rocket toy and the boys went CRAZY for it! Trevor spends all day riding it around the house. It's pretty adorable!
So cute!
Eventually he decided that riding it
just wasn't thrilling enough...
...he had to show off his stuntman skills!
This is how he gets off. Nice dismount, huh? :)
This boy gets cuter everyday!
I don't know what I'd do without him.

My Old Man :)

Today is my dad's birthday. I love this guy!
I am really missing him today, but I am glad that we can share him with the people of the Congo. I know that those people love him and that he is doing so much good there. That makes it easier to be away. (And I know my mom is taking good care of him, too. She made him some english toffee...so I know he's a happy man!) :)
This morning, we recorded this video for him, just in case we didn't get to talk to him. (Between their internet problems and ours, it's pretty hard to communicate.)
Happy Birthday Dad/Papa! We are so grateful to have you in our lives...even if you are on the other side of the world! :) We love you!
