Celebration-Part 2

We had one more celebration for Trevor...I just can't help myself. :) We had some of Trevor's best friends (Jameson, Alex, Sara, and CheriAn) join us for cupcakes and ice cream on his actual birthday.

Trevor and his cousins.
Blowing out the candles
Such cute little boys. :)
Here are the "brown cupcakes" that Trev requested.
Anytime we asked him what he wanted for his birthday,
he would say, "Just a brown cupcake."
He's pretty easy to please. :)

Here's the happy (and messy) birthday boy!

He got lots of fun presents!

So...that's it!
It was a perfect weekend for our little guy.

Happy 3rd Birthday, sweet boy.
We love you very much!

Celebrating Our Boy-Part 1

We had a great time celebrating Trevor's 3rd birthday. We started on Saturday night with his special birthday dinner. We were so happy to have Grammy and Papa with us this year. I let Trevor plan the menu, which consisted of hot dogs, Cheetos, and pasta salad. Fancy, huh? :) After dinner, we let him open presents and then we went out for frozen yogurt. It was a wonderful night...for our wonderful little boy!

The Birthday Feast
(At least I didn't have to cook!)

SO happy! :)
Present time...
I took Isaac to the store to pick out a present for Trev.
He knew exactly what he wanted to get his little brother
and we searched the whole store until we found it.
Trevor was thrilled! Score one for Isaac! :)

Trevor LOVES his Grammy and Papa!
These birthday hugs are especially important this year.

The boys first trip to a "build-your-own" frozen yogurt place.
They loved being able to top their ice cream
with WHATEVER they wanted...including sour gummy worms!

Three Glorious Years!

Three years ago today, this adorable ray of sunshine joined our family. Our little Trevor has brought so much excitement, laughter, and joy to our life. (And anyone that's met him knows that he's also given us LOTS of great stories!) :)

I love you, Trevy.
You are a very special little person.

(Lots of celebration pictures to come...I'm just too tired from all the fun!)

The Re-cap

We had a fun Easter this year.
Well...actually...the boys had a fun Easter.

(I had my wisdom teeth out just 3 days before and ended up with horrible dry socket for the whole weekend. I pretty much missed everything because I was either in too much pain or too drugged up to know what was happening. Thankfully I have a great husband and great family to make it fun for my boys. Derek even managed to get some pictures for me.) :)

Here are the boys, filling eggs for the Jameson family party:

Coloring the Easter eggs:
(Pardon the lack of clothes...I can't stand to let them ruin their shirts!)

Easter morning:

The boys are at such fun ages right now...
they get so excited about everything!
(I especially love the pictures of them coming down the stairs together.
They were just squealing with delight!) :)

Easter Means...

Our Family Home Evening lesson this week was on Easter. The boys are very excited for all the festivities (a.k.a. candy), but I wanted to remind them what Easter is really about. We talked about the story of Jesus' death and resurrection. Isaac was very interested in all the details. Then I gave the boys "Easter eggs" and told them to draw what Easter means to them. I was amazed at what Isaac did.

Here's what his paper looked like:

Cute, right?
Then I asked him to tell me what he drew...

And here's what he told me:
He could retell the story perfectly....he knew every detail.
I love to see his sweet faith growing.
I love being his mom.

Lil' Slugger

I can't believe that my little Isaac is big enough for t-ball,
but he is! He is doing great and seems to really like it.
I LOVE watching him out there...it is seriously cute.

Here are some pictures from his first game.He was so proud of his new uniform.

Our buddy, Sara, surprised Isaac at his first game.
He was thrilled that she came to watch him.
(Thanks, Sar!)

Getting ready to play
(I love his stance here...he is all business.) :)

Here's the adorable little outfielder.

It was very hot and sunny.
Good thing I brought along Trevor's "gun-sasses."

I thought this was so funny...
Here are all the kids, waiting to bat.
Obviously they was not very nervous.

Isaac's turn to hit

Running to first base

Here's the "it's-too-dang-hot-to-be-standing-out-here" pose.
(In his defense...it was already in the high 90s that day.)

And here he is with his #1 fan! :)

Daddy's Boys

My boys LOVE their Daddy. Given the choice between Mom or Dad...there's no question who they would choose. Sometimes it makes me a little sad, but I can't really blame them. Derek is my favorite person to be with, too. :)

Last night, we were trying to get the boys to bed and they both picked Daddy to sing bedtime songs. So I said my "I love you"-s and left (probably with my head hung down a little). Next thing I know, Isaac is right behind me, giving me a big hug. He looked me in the eyes and very seriously said, "Mom, I love you when I'm mad at you. And I love you when I punch you in the stomach. And I even love you when I don't pick you."

While the wording was a little harsh (for the record...he's never punched me in the stomach), I totally got what he was trying to tell me. No matter how much they love their Daddy, or how many times I'm picked last, I am still their mommy. And I'll take it. :)
