Please Say Chocolate!

Look at what my mischevious little boy
can accomplish in just five minutes:

If you've ever seen the movie "Baby Mama,"
then you probably remember the line,
"Is that chocolate or poop?"

We have always laughed about that scene,
but I never thought I would actually find myself
asking that horrifying question!

Lucky for me, the answer was "CHOCOLATE!"

Cabin Fever

You wanna know what happens when you keep two little boys inside for days at a time? I discovered this week just how CRAZY it can get! Trevor got pneumonia again, so the boys and I were shut in for a few days, trying to keep the virus that started it all from spreading to everyone else. Somewhere between breathing treatments, lots of doses of meds/steroids, and a doozey of a diaper rash (thanks to the antibiotics), we all just about lost our minds.

Exhibit A: Isaac

It is both frightening and hilarious.

Surviving the Heat

This is the time of year that we begin to question why we live here...it's SO hot! Since the boys are getting a little older, we've really been able to enjoy swimming this summer. It's helped us survive this crazy heat. Derek was able to come with us this weekend, so naturally, I had to take a few pictures. They are just such cute little fishies! :)

Isaac is always the first one in. He loves it!
Trevor takes a little bit more convincing.
Isaac can usually talk him into it. :)
Here are the boys...all ready for the big jump.
I love this expression.

Trevor even got brave enough to leave the step with Daddy.

Here's a video one of the "big jumps" they did.
Trevor wasn't so sure about the jumping,
but Isaac (and Derek) could do it all day long.

All tuckered out! :)

Back to School

I feel very lucky to be able to teach preschool. I love that it gives me my "teaching fix" and still allows me to be a stay-at-home mom. I also love the cute kiddies that are in my class each year. They are always so happy, energetic, and ready to learn! And this year is especially fun for me because my sweet Isaac boy is in my class. I was a little worried about how it would work to teach my own kid, but he did great. He was so excited to be there...and I love being his teacher!

Here are some highlights from our first day:
So happy to have his name on the wall!
Look at that face!
What a handsome fella! :)

Isaac's cousin (and best buddy) is in our class.
It's so fun to share this time with cute Jameson, too!
Here is his first paper.
I love that he says he felt, "happy and smile." :)
Is it really possible that my baby boy is a preschooler?!
Wow.

Whatever it Takes...

Trevor was determined to get his pinwheel to spin.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess. :)

The Payoff

Life is pretty crazy. The boys are active, Derek is super busy, and I'm exhausted most of the time. But I wouldn't trade it for the world. You wanna know why? Well...here it is. My boys LOVE each other. They have so much fun together. I just love to sit back and watch them laugh and play. I like to call these moments my "payoff!" :)

Enjoying story time

Rain Dance

The boys and I went back up to the cabin last week to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa (and to escape the heat!). The temperature never got above 80 degrees the whole time we were there. The last couple of days it got really cold and rainy, which was SO nice! (It feels fabulous to wear a jacket in the middle of July!) :) My poor little desert rats haven't had much experience with rain, so they just couldn't resist the urge to get out there and play. They had so much fun getting soaked!

rain + little boys = pure happiness!
