We were able to get away with Derek's family for a few days last weekend. We went to "Grandma's mountain" up in Pinetop. It was a much needed break for all of us! The weather was gorgeous and the company was great (11 adults and 12 little kids). I took WAY too many pictures (as usual), but here are the highlights of the weekend:
We left for the mountain on Derek's 30th birthday. We did a little celebration that morning before we left, complete with "doughnut cake" and presents. The boys love birthdays and there's no one they like to celebrate more than their daddy! We also did a little celebration at the cabin with the rest of the family.
I don't want too get mushy, but I sure do love that guy! :) Happy 30th, Babe!
There are so many fun things to do at the cabin..."bumpy rides" (on the Ranger and quad), air hockey, horseshoes, relaxing in the hammocks, playing games, hanging out with family, and, of course, getting nice and dirty.
What a life, huh? :) The boys love every bit of it!

The 4th of July is really fun in Show Low. They start the day with a cute little parade through the middle of town. There are lots of tractors, horses, and fire trucks. What more could 2 little boys ask for? :) I love all the kids dressed up in their red, white, and blue (especially 3-month-old Kaleb!). So cute! Then that night they do fireworks. We were trying to avoid the crowds this year, so we went to a nearby hill and watched them from the back of our truck.
The view was pretty good...good enough for a bunch of tired people who are easily amused! :)

One afternoon, we all headed down to a nearby lake. We did some fishing, fed the ducks, and just let the kids explore.
I love to watch my boys enjoying the outdoors.
It was such a FUN trip! We came home pretty worn out, but that's the price you pay for family memories, right? :) Totally worth it.
